The Faculty of Professional Business and Technical Management is listed in British Qualifications - the British Council’s reference book, published by Kogan Page Ltd.and is listed in the BTEC Higher National Professional Recognition & Progression Directory.

The Faculty of Professional Business and Technical Management is also a member of the Confederation of Professional Awarding Bodies (COPAB)

Membership

Applicants will be assessed on their Knowledge, Skill, Experience (K.S.E.), education, training, and responsibility. Due consideration will be given to those who are qualified only by practical experience. There are many people who, through no fault of their own, have not had the opportunity to gain academic qualifications during their careers. These people may also apply for membership based on their own individual merits, practical experience and position.

Membership Grades

Student Member - SFPBTM
Applicants should be currently studying a relevant business or management program. The applicant should have completed the first year of a course of studies or be qualified up to National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 4

Technician Member - TMFPBTM

Applicants should have completed one of the following: NQF Level 5 Specialised Technical Diploma but lacks the management education or experience to be awarded Associate Membership.

Associate Member - AMFPBTM
Applicants should have completed one of the following: NQF Level 5 Specialised Technical Management or Business Diploma, appropriate City and Guilds course, Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC), Scottish Vocational and Educational Training (SCOTVEC) or Scottish Qualifications Awards (SQA) awards. Also those with three years relevant professional experience in management may be accepted.

Full Member - MFPBTM
Applicants should have completed one of the following: Specialised Bachelor of Technical Management or Business Degree, NQF Level 6, appropriate City and Guilds course, BTEC or SCOTVEC/SQA awards. Also those with relevant professional qualifications and/or appropriate experience as a specialist manager may be accepted.

Fellow - FFPBTM
Applicants should have completed one of the following: Specialised Master of Technical Management or Business Degree or NQF Level 7 chartered, professional and senior management courses. Senior professionals with at least five years experience holding chartered professional qualifications may also be accepted.

Companion - CFPBTM
Doctor of Management graduate, NQF Level 8 and those in a senior Technical Management or Business specialist position. Current PBTM Fellows currently working in a senior management position may also be accepted.

Note:
We will also take membership of other professional bodies into account.
The equivalent worldwide qualifications will apply in each grade.
Application can be made to be upgraded to the next level of membership as further K.S.E. (Knowledge, Skills and Experience) is gained.

Certificate Programs
One of the prime purposes of the Faculty of Professional Business and Technical Management is to help Business Managers, particularly those in Technical fields, develop their management knowledge.

The Faculty is initially offering members the opportunity to develop their non-technical management skills via the studying of eight certificate programs. These certificate programs will integrate into a ‘Level 4’ Ofqual Diploma. The cost to study the program will be £495.
